There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about us. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line.
Rae is the one who quickly jumped into action when she seen her community in desperate need for a change in animal welfare. Honoring her Grandmother, Rae has been an advocate for the voiceless on personal, city, state, and nationally. She has wonderful connections with many animal lovers, policy makers and changers. You can often find Rae setting up a protest, meeting with Dept of Ag, or working for PETA. No matter the breed or challanges, Rae will also focus on the best interest of the animal. She is known as the fearless one and will go to extreme lengths to ensure the safety of animals. She stands up for what she believes in, even if she stands alone. Animals are not Rae's only focus and passion, as suicide advocacy is equally important to her. You will find Rae either saving dogs or on the suicide hotline platform. She knows she can't save the world but hopes to make it a better place. Her #1 supporter is also on the board. Rae give all credits for her golden heart to mother, Theresa. This mother/daughter duo can accomplish anything in this world...together.
Theresa is the first step in granting wishes. She is our very own veterinarian technician that is first to see all the new animals that come through our doors. Theresa is the most loving, supportive person to everyone she meets. Theresa is often known as the neighborhood mom that took in many children throughout the years and now has switched the intake up to taking in dogs. She has a heart for them all. Theresa was late to the animal world, but we are lucky to have her. She is bound on inspiration left in the shadows of her mother, whom passed away in 2010. Her mother, Phyllis, has been an inspiration to forming Grant's Wishes. Theresa is a workaholic holding many positions in health care. She resides with her husband of 20 years and their dog, Maysen, whom is an 11-year-old Bichon. Theresa and her husband hold the only medical foster home for veterans in Nebraska. This is their way of honoring a very special uncle and brother. They have a very close relationship with their two daughters Rachel & Betty.
Animal lovers are some of the most empathetic and trustworthy people you can meet. Knowing that someone needs to talk about their problems is something that will never go unnoticed by Donna. The constant need to pay attention to signals from their pets overflows into their human-acquainted lives as well.
Donna is our only source of steady income by managing and running our garage sale site, The Wishing Well. She loves telling the citizens of Fremont all about our first rescue, Grant. She has many repeat customers that come to the Wishing Well just to visit about dogs. We are very blessed to have Donna here at Grant's Wishes.
Sharon is one of the best aunts in the world. She is often altruistic, kind and affectionate, as well as extroverted, outgoing, energetic and enthusiastic.
Sharon shows trustworthy, sincere, and loyal traits no matter the time of day. Her huge heart makes her one of the best pet parents. When Sharon isn't working taking of others while providing top notch home health care, you will find her spending time with her children and grandkids.
Sharon joins Grant's Wishes to honor her fur baby, Lady Bird. Lady is awaiting for us at Rainbow Bridge and took a piece of Sharon's heart with her. We know they will be reunited one day. Sharon currently has two balls of cuteness and joy, Jace the dog and Jasper the cat.
Shannon comes to us as another life long friend of the president, Rae. Shannon jumped right in to help share her passion for the animals. Shannon excels in finding volunteers and fosters. She also has helped the rescue with transport, fostering, medical, and every aspect of what it takes to save a life. Shannon's big heart keeps her busy. Shannon may be new to rescue but her passion makes her push through all obstacles.
Shannon is a survivor of ovarian cancer. That is one of lifes hurdles her and Rae fought together. These two gals think they can take over the world together.
Shannon resides miles away but her results show no effect.
Shannon lives with her husband. They have 4 grown children and an adorable grandson. They have one of Grants Wishes alumni who was a foster fail. Novalea joined 2 cats, and 3 other dogs. Good thing they are country side.
Shannon is also driven by the memories of her fur soul, Bruiser. Bruiser is waiting for Shannon at the bridge.
Welcome to the Grant Family Shannon! We are blessed to have you!!
Every animal that comes through the doors will be kept and cared for until they find their forever home. Providing a safe environment, obedience training, and top-notch medical care, the team focuses on healing the animal's body and mind.
The team is dedicated to finding the best family possible for each animal, working to reduce the stress on them. Whether it's a foster or forever home, thorough inspection and check ups are required before an animal is placed. Above all else, the health, safety and happiness of each animal is our focus.
Our staff, volunteers, and doctors all get to know the pets and help build each animal's biography to give hopeful adopters the most complete information possible. Give us a call today to ask any questions, to volunteer, or to schedule a visit with an animal!
